Working on the Web Design assignment helped me develop important skills like creating responsive layouts, selecting color schemes, and organizing content clearly. I used contrast by placing dark text against a light background for readability, and alignment to make sure headings, images, and buttons were consistently arranged. I also applied proximity by grouping related content together, such as keeping all navigation links in one section for easier access. I enjoyed the creative freedom of designing a website that reflected my ideas, but coding some of the responsive features was challenging. These skills will be valuable in my future career for creating professional portfolios, instructional websites, or other digital resources.
A creative way to use QR codes in my classroom would be to place them on worksheets or classroom posters that link to supplemental materials. For example, a QR code next to a diagram of the solar system could take students to an interactive 3D model online. This would allow students to explore content in multiple ways and make learning more engaging. It also reduces the need for printed materials while providing instant access to digital resources. QR codes could even be used for scavenger hunts or review activities to encourage active participation.
Case: A teacher uses an online grading platform that automatically posts student scores for the entire class to see. Some students feel embarrassed, while others like the transparency. To address this ethically, I would change the settings so each student can only see their own grades. I would also explain to students how the system works and why privacy is important. This respects students’ confidentiality while still allowing the teacher to efficiently manage grades. By protecting privacy, the approach maintains trust and fairness in using technology.
Hi Blinn! I really like the clean and organized layout of your website. You did a great job with contrast by using dark text on a light background, it makes everything easy to read. Your repetition of colors and fonts across pages gives it a professional and cohesive look. The alignment is strong, especially with how the text and images line up neatly. You also used proximity well by grouping related content together, which helps with readability. Overall, your design feels polished and well thought out!
ReplyDeleteHi Blinn! Your design has strong contrast, with clean and readable text/headings. The fonts and navigation layout is consistent across the entire website. The structure of the website is orderly and centered and all the related elements (e.g. contact info, quick links, etc.) are grouped logically. The website is simple and functional, making it a good resource for both students and parents. Some areas for improvement might be adding more color accents, less center alignment (makes the layout feel less static), and more repeating visual elements.
